I’m in love with the Census and my favorite, my “Census Crush” if you will, is 1900. In the 1900 Federal Census, there were columns for birth month, day (on some forms) and year. This is the only Census so far (pre-1940) that has drilled down to such detail. Previous and post Censi (?) dealt with the column “Age at last birthday”, relying on the date the Census was taken, the readers ability to subtract and the genealogists willingness to use the phase “about (or abt)” to come up with a hypothesis birth year. So, before I saw the 1900 Cenus, my great grandfather was born “abt 1873.” I now know that he was born March 1, 1872. Thank you, you lovely, beautiful 1900 Census. Wanna go out sometime?

I love you for all your obsessions, but this is a really good one.
My nostalgia is being nourished by your research. Thanks
